In 2015, Hanny also won the Telstra Young Business Award for Tasmania and was a finalist in the national business awards. Since returning home to Tasmania in December 2014, she has stepped into an informal wilderness advocacy role in Tasmania. She has aspirations to become more active as an advocate for health, wilderness & cultural preservation, especially in her home state of Tasmania.
