After the huge success of the inaugural CBR 100 Challenge earlier this year, the event has been scheduled for the weekend of 5–6 March 2016.

The event has been deliberately brought forward by two weeks to avoid Easter and the Canberra Day long-weekend.

Event Director, Kimberlee King of Earlybird Events, said: “Canberrans and people from interstate really came out and embraced the event, which was fantastic to see. In fact we had a comment from one local who said they had lived in Canberra for over 20 years and never been on sections of the Trail that they did during the Challenge.

“Others were blown away by how beautiful Canberra is, how they were deep in the bush one minute and looking over national institutions the next. The event also attracted a lot of people who were doing something like this for the first time. One person said that six-months beforehand they couldn’t walk 5km let alone the 25km they did.

“That kind of feedback goes to the heart of what this event is about,” said Ms King. “It’s about running and walking our beautiful Centenary Trail with its panoramic views to the city and bush, to major iconic vistas and landmarks, and also giving people a fantastic incentive to get fit and healthy, and help them make permanent changes.”
